Javier Alarcó

Javier is the Founding Partner and CEO of JME Venture Capital.

Javier has dedicated all his professional life to the finance and investment banking industry. He started his career in Beta Capital and he later moved to Banco de Negocios Argentaria.  After the acquisition of the latter by BBV he stayed 20 years at BBVA where,  among others roles, he was the Head of Private Equity and the Global Head of Investment Banking.

He is also a member of the board at Tecnicas Reunidas and ATLL.


Samuel Gil

Samuel Gil, CFA, is Partner and Chief Investment Officer at JME Venture Capital. He currently serves as director/observer on the boards of Flywire (formerly Peertransfer), WorldSensing, Minube, Waynabox, Jetlore and Odilo.

Before joining JME VC, Samuel was Investment Director at the José Manuel Entrecanales Foundation (FJME) and Investment Manager at Faraday Venture Partners.

Prior to his career as a VC, he worked as Energy Trading Manager at Iberdrola and as Technology Consultant at Accenture.

Samuel holds a MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), a MS degree in Information Technology from University of Stuttgart, an Executive MBA from IESE and is a CFA charter holder.


Lourdes Álvarez de Toledo

Lourdes has been working in the VC industry for 5 years. First in Fundación José Manuel Entrecanales and now at JME VC, where she has developed her double role as lawyer and economist. Currently, Lourdes is a member of the board of directors of several companies such as Heygo, Minube and Sentisis analytics. She also serves as an observer at Redbooth, Inc.

Prior to JME VC, Lourdes worked at the prestigious law firm Gómez-Acebo&Pombo in the labor department.

Lourdes holds a double degree in economics and law from Carlos III University, Madrid, and studied for one year at the Catholic University of Lovaina, Belgium.


María Echávarri

Maria has been working in the VC industry since 2011, first at José Manuel Entrecanales Foundation and currently at JME Venture Capital.

She is a member of the board of directors of several companies such as 3ants, Playspace, Caravelo and Weplan.

Maria has a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (E-3, ICADE). During her studies, she completed a year at the University St.Xavier’s College in Mumbai, India.

She is also Executive MBA from IESE.


José María Hernanz

José María joined JME Venture Capital in 2016 as an investment associate. Prior to JME VC, he was an Associate Director at UBS (London office) where he worked as an Equity Research analyst covering Telecommunication services companies.

He is co-founder of “La Fabrica de Camisas”, a Spanish textile company and he has also done several personal investments in Spanish startups.

José María holds a degree on Business Administration and Finance from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas).


Jaime Santamaría de Paredes

Jaime joined the JME Venture Capital team in September 2016 as an investment analyst.

Prior to entering the entrepreneurial ecosystem, he worked in the Transaction Advisory Services department of Ernst and Young in the Madrid office.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management plus a Masters degree in International Finance from CUNEF.


Natalia Rojas

Natalia is the operation manager at JME Venture Capital. She is also the Head of the “Emprende tus Prácticas” and “Despega” program at Fundación José Manuel Entrecanales.

Prior to joining the VC industry, she held various jobs at Acciona, including Assistant to the Executive Director.

Natalia holds a degree in Social Work from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
